Privacy Policy

The short version: this is a browser-only tool. The words you type or upload are processed by JavaScript running on your own device. They are never sent to us, and we never see them. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and no server-side storage of your vocabulary lists.
1. Who we are
Pinyin Worksheet Maker ("the site", "we", "us") is a free online generator that turns a vocabulary list into printable Chinese character and pinyin practice worksheets. This policy explains what information is and is not handled when you use it.

2. Information we do not collect
We do not ask for, and do not operate any system capable of receiving:
- the vocabulary lists you type into the text box;
- the Excel, CSV, or text files you upload;
- the worksheets you generate, print, or save as PDF;
- your name, email address, or any account credentials — there are no accounts;
- your payment details — the tool is free and has no checkout.
File uploads are read locally using the browser's File API. The file never leaves your device; nothing is transmitted to a server we control or to any third party.
3. Information processed automatically
Like nearly every website, our hosting provider and advertising partners may automatically log standard technical data when a page is requested. This typically includes:

This data is generated by web servers as a technical necessity. We do not combine it with any other information to identify individual visitors.
4. Cookies and local storage
The generator itself sets no cookies. Cookies may be set by third-party services described below.

You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings. Blocking advertising cookies does not affect the worksheet generator in any way.
One exception is localStorage, a browser storage area that never leaves your device. The generator uses it for a single purpose: remembering pronunciation corrections you make with the pencil tool, so your edits are still there next time. It contains no personal data and is not transmitted anywhere; clearing your browser data removes it.
5. Fonts
If you choose the Noto Sans SC character font, the font files are fetched on demand from Google Fonts. That request goes to Google's servers, which means your IP address becomes visible to Google for that request — the same happens with any site using Google Fonts. The default Kaiti font uses characters already installed on your device and makes no external requests. Fonts are the only third-party download the generator itself makes; your word list never leaves the browser regardless of the font you choose.
6. Advertising
This site is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display ads.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info, or for European visitors at Your Online Choices.

Where required by law, we ask for your consent before setting advertising cookies, and you can change or withdraw that consent at any time through the consent banner.
7. Analytics
We do not currently run analytics or behavioural tracking scripts of our own. If we introduce them in the future, this policy will be updated first, and any analytics will be configured to avoid collecting the content of your vocabulary lists.
8. Affiliate links
Some pages may contain affiliate links to books, printable packs, or courses. If you buy through such a link, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links are always marked as sponsored, and they never appear inside the printable worksheet area.

9. Children's privacy
This site is intended for teachers, tutors, parents, and independent learners. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the generator collects nothing at all, a child using it under a teacher's or parent's supervision sends us no data. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through some other channel, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Because we hold no personal data about you, in practice most requests are satisfied by explaining that nothing is stored.
For advertising data controlled by Google, use the opt-out links in section 5. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA. We do not knowingly sell the personal information of minors.
11. Data retention and security
We retain no user content, so there is nothing for us to store or later delete. Standard server logs, where they exist, are kept by our hosting provider for a short period for security and troubleshooting, then discarded. All communication with this site is encrypted with HTTPS.

Pages on this site may link to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites; please review their policies separately.
13. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change too. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
